Born on a sunny Santa Monica day, Adriana Nicole Beltran Lesher was the second of Marisol Beltran and Robert Lesher's four children. Born in the United States to a Spanish-born father and Israeli-born mother, both of whom were extremely keen on travel, Yael and her siblings spent the better part of their formative years moving from state to state while being homeschooled in their native languages. It wasn't until Yael was old enough to attend middle school that she was transferred into the public school system as an English as a Second Language (ESL) student, which brought about an intense level of shyness due to children who teased her for her less advanced classes and hard-to-understand accent.
